Aquatint by Hill after an original drawing Thomas Rowlandson (1756-1827) and Augustus Pugin (1762-1832), showing women at Bridewell Prison, London. Taken from 'Repository of Arts' by Rudolph Ackermann (1764-1834). English architect Pugin was responsible for drawing the architectural details of this series of 104 handcoloured aquatints, and English caricaturist Rowlandson painted in the figures.
