My mother joins me in best wishes for the New Year, Yours ever, Coburn.' The letter deals with an impending visit by Johnston to Coburn's studio in Hammersmith, and Coburn's interest in photogravure. J Dudley Johnston (1868-1955) was twice President of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS). He created their Permanent Collection of photographs and equipment, and later became Curator of the RPS print collection.
