Description

'Cyril Smith hanging by a thread at G-Mex. The 28-stone Liberal MP was hoisted up in a special chair to prove the strength of a new pencil-thin rope at a Manchester textile exhibition. But despite being insured for £1 million, Cyril was taking no chances. "Five feet and no bloody further", he instructed the crane driver.'
