Lofthouse playing for Bolton Wanderers. Bolton-born Nat Lofthouse (b 1925) played centre-forward for Bolton Wanderers and England, scoring 30 goals in 33 internationals. He was Footballer of the Year in 1953 and captained Bolton to a 2-0 victory over Manchester United to win the FA Cup Final in 1958. His playing career cut short by injury in 1960, Lofthouse went on to serve as manager and later president of his home team.
