Scottish footballer Ferguson (born 1941) played for St Johnstone, Dunfermline and Rangers before moving to Falkirk in 1969. Following success as the manager of Aberdeen FC, he went on to manage Manchester United in 1986. By 2005 his successes included winning the Premiership title eight times, the FA cup five times, as well as the League Cup, European Cup, and the European Cup Winners' Cup. He was awarded the OBE in 1983, knighted in 1999, has been Manager of the Year five times, and was named Premier League Manager of the Decade in 2003.
