Platinum print photograph by Frederick Hollyer (1837-1933) of British artist Ford Maddox Brown (1821-1893). Ford Maddox Brown specialised in romantic historical paintings. He was a friend of the Pre-Raphaelites though he was never a member of the Brotherhood. His best known work is probably 'The Last of England', painted in 1855.
