A passenger train, pulled by an A3 class 4-6-2 locomotive number 60045 "Lemberg" at York station, by E R Wethersett, about 1953. This train is probably travelling between London and Edinburgh. York station was rebuilt as a through station in the 1870s as the existing building, built in 1841 inside the city's walls, had been too small, and many accidents had occurred. The station was designed by G T Andrews.
