Description

Pageant celebrating the centenary of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, Liverpool, September 1930. The pageant showed different types of transport through the ages, starting with a caveman dragging his wife home by her hair! The L&MR was the first intercity railway to be built and opened in 1830, engineered by Robert Stannard and George Stephenson.
