Entrance at the mouth of the Channel Tunnel at Cheriton, Kent, by Lynn Patrick, July 1991. The workers are filling a bullet with cement, to be put into the boring machine. The Channel Tunnel opened in 1995, to create a rail link between London and Brussels and Paris, and connections to many other European cities. The tunnel took 7 years to build and cost £2,700 million.
