Olive Mount Junction signalbox, Liverpool, by Chris Hogg, 1996. The signalbox is no longer in use. This cutting, leading up to Liverpool Lime Street station was on the Liverpool & Manchester Railway, and was built in the late 1820s. It was widened in the 1870s. Traffic entering Lime Street had heavily increased since the station was built in the 1830s. Therefore Lime Street was rebuilt and the number of tracks entering the station quadrupled.
