Passenger buying train tickets at Leeds station ticket office, by Lynn Patrick, 8 March 2001. At this time the station had just been refurbished. By the 21st century tickets were processed by computer and were printed when bought. It is now possible to buy train tickets over the internet. However, in the earlier part of the 20th century tickets were pre-printed with every possible destination and fare.
