A class 5 locomotive number 171 'Slieve Gallion' with a passenger train to Dublin, by Patrick Ransome-Wallis. Ulster's railways were nationalised in 1948. Many of the railway's steam locomotives were manufactured in Derby. This is because the Midland Railway had owned the Belfast & Northern Counties Railway and the connections between the Midlands and Ulster had remained.
