A 4-8-0 locomotive number 152, by Patrick Ransome-Wallis. At this time Sierra Leone was under British rule and its locomotives were largely manufactured in Britain. The railways were narrow gauge due to the mountainous terrain. Sierra Leone's railways closed in the 1970s, and now only one private railway is used to carry minerals.
