Description

A class 33 4-4-0 locomotive, number 290 photographed by Patrick Ransome-Wallis. Egypt opened its first railway line in 1856, with the help of Robert Stephenson. Many Egyptian locomotives were built by British, American or French companies, or were based on foreign designs.
