Description

The Great Indian Peninsula Railway provided this hospital for its workers and their families. Health and safety measures were not as stringent as they are today. Protective clothing was not worn and machines had fewer safety features. Accidents were common and the hospital staff dealt with broken limbs, trapped fingers and even amputations.
