The board gives information about arrival and departure times, and information to troops that are to be carried by train. The advertisement is for 'Halo' hair nets. The railways were brought under government control during the Second World War and were used extensively to carry troops and weapons around the country and to ports. Some passenger services, however, were curtailed during the war.
