The London & North Western Railway's Royal Train. There has been a royal train since 1842 when Queen Victoria became the first member of the royal family to travel by train, from London to Windsor. Crewe works was preparing for a visit by King George V and Queen Mary. The King and Queen toured the works and saw all the phases of vehicle manufacture and servicing undertaken in the workshops.
