Royal Train, pulled by a 4-6-0 locomotive number 1514 approaching Rochdale station, Greater Manchester 1913. The train carried King George V and Queen Mary to Rochdale as part of their tour of the North West of England. The King and Queen visited several towns and Horwich and Crewe railway works. The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway, like other railway companies, had carriages especially for use by the Royal family. They had a dining room and day and night saloons.
