Railway workers meeting the Royal Train, pulled by a 4-6-0 locomotive number 1514 at Blackpool station, Lancashire, 1913. The train carried King George V and Queen Mary to Blackpool, as part of their tour of the North West of England. The King and Queen visited several towns and Horwich and Crewe railway works. The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway, like other railway companies, had carriages especially for use by the Royal family. They had a dining room and day and night saloons.
