Great Western Railway 4-2-4 locomotive number 2002 on the former Bristol & Exeter Railway, 1910. The railway was built by Brunel between 1840 and 1843, and was absorbed into the Great Western Railway in 1876. The railway was built to serve broad gauge traction as was the Great Western Railway, although by 1892 it had been converted to standard gauge. This class of locomotive was distinguished by its huge driving wheels.
