Platforms 2 and 3 at Paddington. All the platforms are empty, even though the photograph was taken in the middle of the day. The previous year Paddington's offices had been hit by a bomb and St Pancras Station suffered extensive damage. Many London stations were bombed during the Blitz. From an archive of about 400,000 photographic negatives from various British Railways and constituent companies' photographic collections, formerly known as the OPC (Oxford Publishing Company) Collection.
