Description
Diagram of Thomas Telford's (1757-1834) design which was built between 1795 and 1796, with details of the soffits and kingposts. The Buildwas bridge was Telford's first iron bridge and was influenced by the famous bridge at Ironbridge. The Buildwas bridge weighed half as much as the one at Ironbridge however, and its span was 30 ft (10 m) wider.
