The Wright Flyer III flying at Huffman Prairie, Ohio on 4th October 1905, piloted by Orville. Regular circuits were flown from this cow pasture in what Gibbs-Smith described as 'the first practical aeroplane'. The witnesses were predominantly locals leading to continued scepticism regarding their claims on both sides of the Atlantic.
