A Snowdon Mountain Tramroad & Hotels Company train travelling towards Clogwyn having been to the summit of Mount Snowdon. The photograph is taken from a rocky knoll called Llechog. The company was formed in 1894 to provide a service to take people to the summit of Mount Snowdon, leaving from Llanberis station and travelling the five miles to the Summit station. Photograph published by Francis Bedford & Co. Bedford (1816-1894) was a prolific and well-respected photographer, best known for his numerous topographic and architectural views of Britain. He was assisted by his son, William (1846-1893) whose work is almost indistinguishable from that of his father.
