'Mr Ian Metcalfe's car (cost £1075) was made in West Berlin and has a 1200cc Triumph Herald engine. He has taken it not only along rivers but also out to sea. This weekend he is planning - weather permitting - to cross the Channel to Dunkirk. His car does 10 mph on the water.'
