A photograph of a man surrounded by hunting 'trophies', taken by Roper for the Daily Herald newspaper on 6 January, 1938. The 'trophies' include a red-fronted gazelle and an African buffalo, both shot on safari by King George VI (1895-1952), an avid hunstsman. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
