The soldiers - in full uniform and heavily decorated with medals - are possibly sitting in Trafalgar Square, London. George VI (1895-1952) was crowned on 12 May, 1937 in Westminster Abbey. He became King following the abdication of his brother, Edward VIII (1894-1972). This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs.
