A photograph of Barbara Parsons introducing her toy dog to Kapile Carei, a Pyrenean Mountain dog, on the first day of Crufts, taken by Malindine for the Daily Herald newspaper on 10 February, 1937. Crufts was founded by Charles Cruft (1852-1938) - the first dog show called 'Crufts' occurring in 1891 in Islington, London. The event is now world famous - and has been organised by the Kennel Club (UK) since 1948. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
