Description

A photograph of four Millwall players on the terraces at the Den, taken by Saidman for the Daily Herald newspaper on 15 January, 1937. Millwall was having a new clock installed - the largest clock on any sports ground in the country. The players holding clock parts are, left to right, J. McCartney, D. Yuill, E. Smith and D. Mangnall (captain). In 1937 Millwall finished eighth in the English Third Division (South). This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
