A photograph of a group of Radiolympia 'girls', taken by Bishop Marshall for the Daily Herald newspaper on 24 August, 1936. The women, pictured parading down the middle of the road, appear in dramatic costume celebrating the wireles industry. They represent France (Eiffel Tower headdres), United States in stars and stripes, the English Rose, and Ireland with the shamrock. Radiolympia was an annual trade show held at Olympia in London. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
