Refreshment trolley, 1937

Passenger at a refreshment trolley at Paddington station, 1937. These trolleys were staffed by Great Western Railway workers and sold drinks, sandwiches and snacks. They were used in large stations so that passengers would not have to walk far if they needed to buy food. Larger meals were available at the station's restaurant. This trolley had pneumatic tyres, for a smoother ride.
