A photograph of a young woman in a swimsuit relaxing in a farmyard reading a newspaper, taken by James Jarche for the Daily Herald newspaper on 9 July, 1934. This photograph was used as publicity for a Daily Herald music contest. The woman, a member of The Jackson Girls singing group, was photographed at Rochford Farm, Essex. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
