A photograph of a woman checking paint at the Jenson and Nicholson Ltd Robbialac Works in Stratford, London, taken by George Woodbine for the Daily Herald newspaper on 1 February, 1933. This worker is checking the colour of paint stored in large wooden barrels. The popular Robbialac brand of paint had been used on motor cars and aeroplanes since World War One. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
