A photograph of two children dressed up as Bobby Bear and Ruby Rabbit outside a newsagent's shop in Streatham, London, taken by Lord for the Daily Herald newspaper on 12 February, 1932. The children are helping to advertise the Daily Herald's 'Help the Hospitals Contest'. The newsagent's windows are covered in posters and flyers advertising a Daily Herald prize draw. Buying a 6d ticket could win £20,000 - with all the proceeds from ticket sales going to English hospitals. The newsagent's window also advertises Abdulla cigarettes and Cadbury's chocolate. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
