Hand-coloured engraving of (top) a ram from Guinea which has longer legs than the European ram, no wool but short hair like a dog's, and long floppy ears. It was also known as the Chinese ram. Below is the five-horned Icelandic ram. Both these specimens were exhibited on the boulevards of Paris in 1774.
