English translation of a work by royal geographer and instrument maker to the French King, Nicolas Bion (1652-1733). This edition is titled 'The construction and principal uses of mathematical instruments', and was published in London in 1723. It claims to be superior to Bion's original book as it includes: 'The Construction and Uses of such Instruments as are omitted by M Bion; particularly those invented or improved by the English'.
