Coloured etching satirising the state of matrimony, showing a family walking along a street in the pouring rain. While the wife and mother at the back of the group carries an umbrella and simultaneously hoists up her dres to stop it trailing in puddles, her husband at the front of the group carries their baby over his shoulder. With his other hand he pulls a perambulator carrying two daughters. Nearby a night watchman shelters in a kiosk with a lantern. Published by J L Marks of Bishopsgate, London.
