Galton (1822-1911) was an English scientist and cousin of Charles Darwin. His work covered the areas of meterology, colour blindnes, fingerprint identification and mental imagery. He was the founder of eugenics, the science of using controlled breeding to increase the occurence of desirable heritable charactersitics in a population.
