'Showing the Principal Causes of Geological Changes on the Earth's Surface'. The chart, part of a set of 13 coloured engravings as Scientific Educational Charts, illustrates the main agents of change in the earth's geography, which are listed below, including: evapouration from the sea; decomposition of rocks; removal of parts of rocks; transport of detritus by river; the destructive action of the sea; drifting of large land mases; the formation of deltas by accumulation; and the formation of sand banks, as well as describing the effects of volcanoes, earthquakes, icebergs and glaciers in forming the landscape.
