Description

Trade card for Spencer and Perkins, watchmakers of No 44 Snow Hill, London. The card shows a gentleman displaying the new pedometer, 'which when worn in the pocket ascertains the distance the wearer walks'. Beneath the illustration of a fashionable gentleman wearing a hat and holding a walking stick details of how to use and wear the pedometer are given. The pedometer can be seen hanging from the gentleman's trouser belt.
