Public notice isued by the magistrates of Havering-atte-Bower in Essex, advising on the health precautions that could be put into practice to reduce the threat of cholera. These included some which were sensible, such as clearing rubbish, cleaning and airing rooms, maintaining personal hygiene, and others which were les obviously efficacious, such as preserving 'a full reliance that such measures will be taken by the Government...as are best calculated, with Divine asistance, to meet the exigencies of the occasion.'
