Portrait of Ludwig Nobel (1831-1888). Ludwig and his brother Robert (1829-1890) founded the Nobel Brothers' Petroleum Company in Baku, Azerbaijan. Their wealth helped their younger brother Alfred Nobel (1833-1896) to established the Nobel Prize.
