Description

Etching by George Cruikshank illustrating a London street that has come to a standstill due to the volume of people attempting to visit the 'Great Exhibition of the Works of the Industry of all Nations'. Overcrowded omnibuses are trying to up the street despite people holding placards saying 'Pray go back! All the roads leading to the exhibition are blocked up!' and 'The park is full!'. In the bottom left hand corner is a sign saying '1851' by Henry Mayhew and George Cruikshank'. Published by D Bogue.
