Coloured aquatint taken from Rudolph Ackermann's 'Repository of Arts' (Vol VIII, 1819), showing the 'London Engineer', a 70 horse power paddle steamer built by Daniel Brent of Rotherhithe, with engines fitted by Maudslay, Sons and Field, at Lambeth. Built of wood, the vesel was specially designed and fitted for service between London and Margate, Kent. Dimensions: 130mm x 230mm.
