This is posibly a scene relating to mining copper, as in the early 1840s, 24 companies were formed to mine copper in the Lake Superior area. Of the 24 only 2 were still in operation by 1846 - the Pittsburgh and Boston and the Lake Superior Mining Companies. Published in New York.
