Lithograph, drawn and lithographed by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (1819-1905), printed and published by Bradshaw & Blacklock, London and Manchester. Pasengers are shown on a platform, awaiting a train, while navvies are seen pushing a wagon along the tracks. During the early part of his career, Tait learned the technique of lithography and produced many detailed architectural prints. He went on to become a respected painter of animals and member of the American Hudson River School.
