'Ansichten der Kaiserin Elisabeth Westbahn Van Wien vis Linz'. Tinted lithograph after J Varoni showing the journey of the Empres Elisabeth train from Vienna to Linz, Austria. Melk is positioned at the confluence of the rivers Melk and Danube, and is the site of a Benedictine Abbey that was founded in 1089. The abbey depicted here on the left, was built between 1702 and 1736 in the Baroque style.
