Description

Hand-coloured pen lithograph caricature by John Leech satirising the widespread popularity and expansion of the railways. Steam locomotives are shown in the place of horses on Rotten Row in Hyde Park. A locomotive carriage containing Queen Victoria (1819-1901) and Prince Edward (1841-1910) is depicted amidst a general scene of pandemonium.
