Description

Lithograph showing the bridge alongside railway offices and warehouses of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway. The Liverpool & Manchester Railway was built under the guidance of chief engineer George Stephenson (1781-1848). It opened on 15 September 1830, becoming the world's first inter-city railway.
