Carte de visite photograph of Thomas Bell (1792-1880). After becoming a dental surgeon at Guy's Hospital, London (1817-61), Bell became Profesor of Zoology at King's College, London in 1836. He was made secretary of the Royal Society, president of the Linnean Society and first president of the Ray Society. His works include 'British Stalk-eyed Crustacea' (1853).
